Wiingushk and Lenan’s fall engagement session at Crawford Lake in Milton, Ontario was the perfect mix of warm autumn colours, quiet forest trails, and the sweetest couple who share a deep love for animals. As two vet techs, they naturally gravitated toward a location surrounded by nature — and Crawford Lake delivered magic.
Why Crawford Lake Is a Beautiful Spot for Fall Engagement Photography
Crawford Lake Conservation Area is one of my favourite engagement photoshoot locations in Ontario. The trails here feel peaceful and secluded, and once fall arrives, the colours explode — deep reds, burnt oranges, golden yellows, and soft browns that glow beautifully in photos. The boardwalk around the lake, the tall pines, and the forest paths make it easy to capture natural, candid moments without crowds.
Getting to Know the Couple – Vet Techs with a Love for Animals
Before we started shooting, I learned that Wiingushk and Lenan are both veterinary technicians, which instantly made sense — they radiate warmth, calmness, and such a gentle energy. You can see the love they have not just for each other, but for the world around them.
Their connection to animals and nature made Crawford Lake feel like the perfect setting for them. Every stop on the trail reflected a part of their personalities: playful, caring, grounded, and deeply connected to the outdoors.
Fall Afternoon Session at Crawford Lake: Trails, Colours, and Golden Light
The Autumn Trails
We started along one of my favourite trails lined with tall trees that were glowing with peak fall colour. The winding paths gave us natural movement — walking shots, soft cuddles, warm moments with leaves crunching underfoot.
Around the Lake’s Boardwalk
Crawford Lake has a beautiful wooden boardwalk that wraps around the water, and during fall, the reflections are just stunning. The stillness of the lake created a calm, romantic vibe that matched their personalities perfectly.
Golden Hour Glow
As the sun began to dip, the forest turned even warmer, giving us that dreamy, cinematic light that only happens in autumn. Those final shots—soft, cozy, natural—were some of my favourites from the entire session.
A Session Filled with Laughter, Warmth, and Love
Every moment with Wiingushk and Lenan felt effortless. They joked, held each other tightly against the cool fall breeze, and soaked up every minute of the afternoon. Their energy together was authentic and tender—exactly what engagement photography is meant to capture.
Fall sessions always have a little bit of magic to them, but this one felt extra special.
