Winter Engagement Photo Shoot | YANI MACUTE PHOTOGRAPHY
Abby and Isaac were looking for that winter wonderland feel in their engagement photo shoot. I was so excited when they contacted me as their photographer because it was going to be my first winter engagement in my portfolio.
To be honest, I have never thought of scheduling a winter engagement pictures into my portfolio. When I think of engagement photo shoot, things that come into my mind are sunset in the summer and sunset in fall. This is just my aesthetic and I thought all the photos taken in those time of the year, are so romantic, soft, lovely and pretty.
We scheduling the day of the photo shoot and Abby and I were right away looking for the day with the most snow fall. Living in Canada it shouldn’t be a problem. Half of the year is winter. So the day of the engagement photo shoot comes, I didn’t realize that with beautiful snow fall, comes with wind, freezing cold and frost bites. I was fine as I was in full winter outfit, but I started to feel sorry for Abby and Isaac as the shoot progressed. What I learned about Isaac too is that sunlight and broad daylight is too bright for his eyes, add snow to the equation and you have white shining snow, sunlight and blinding overcast light. I am thankful for them for being so patient and such great sports. As a result, we were able to achieve these beautiful engagement pictures.
