During the photoshoot, I was definitely realizing and learning things that I would like to apply on my next newborn baby photography.

1. Experience is the best teacher

There's only so much you can learn when you are researching for tips and tricks online for whatever photoshoot. If you want to be the master of newborn baby photography, experience is the best teacher!

During my online research for newborn baby photoshoots, majority of the photos were pictures of babies sleeping, very peaceful and quiet. However, during my photoshoot, the baby was crying nonstop!!!!!!!!!!

2. Wait for the baby to quiet down

If your baby is crying nonstop during the photoshoot, it is best to wait for the baby to stop crying before taking pictures. You can try feeding the baby, or making him fall asleep.

3. Wait for the baby to fall asleep

When the baby is asleep, you can pose the baby however you want to pose. This way, you can get as many different pictures as possible. So it is best to put the baby to sleep first.

This was the most surprising thing during my first newborn photoshoot. I don't know why I didn't see this coming, but babies poop whenever the want. Mess like this should be expected during newborn photoshoot.

5. Best to photograph a 1-2 week old baby

It is best to photography a 1-2 week old babies because all they want to do is sleep! :)
