Hey everyone! In this video, I talked about my first affordable canon portrait lenses. These are my ride or die affordable portrait lenses by canon. If you are just starting or would like to get into portrait photography, I would highly recommend these lenses. They are prime lenses meaning you can NOT zoom in and out, which I think are the best for portrait photography because they are just crazy sharp, and they usually have low aperture at 1.8, 1.4 or even 1.2 which could blur out the background so much and separate it from your subject.
First lens is the canon 50mm 1.8 lens. This retails for $120 dollars. This was the very first prime lens that I bought. When I realize how much I love portraiture, I decided to try out a prime lens. Which is the best decision every because this lens is cheap and if I didn’t like it, it wouldn’t be such waste of money. But I ended up liking it a lot.
Next is the canon 85mm 1.8 lens. This lens retails for $300-$400. It is almost similar to the 50mm, however, this would allow you to have much more blurred background because your subject will be a lot closer to you than the 50mm.
